1.
A tarnished golden age Wilts as seconds pass Sand fills the hourglass Burying the past Relics faded into dirt Memories putrefy Voices of an ancient world Now their echo dies (Chorus) Fallen, age of man Mankind, choked this land Carcass, society's remains Existence, time has reclaimed The hands of motion Beckoning decay Countless lives were lived here Now swept away What once stood proud here Has gone to waste Neglect has run its course Now only ruin remains (Chorus) Lost in the mist Cease to exist Man's folly the stain Only shadows remain (Chorus)
2.
Play That broken record again To empty rooms Out of tune Stay In years that never return The rosy haze Starts to glaze Dead You go to disturb the grave Bones of time Let them die Bled The seconds and hours you have Into the past Where you are trapped (Chorus) Desperate, calling No-one's there Twenty years split You from them Stumbling, blindly Falling back, the Cult of Stasis, banish you Into the past (Chorus)
3.
Suspended animation The only way that he can be Preserves expansive wisdom That has gone obsolete Resides within the days Of a different time His eyes closed to a world That's long since passed him by (Chorus) Oracle Cannot see Ancient god False deity A mind gone derelict Like a home left to decay His roots have twisted down Fixing him in place A life beyond these walls A life that he could not survive And so he sits and waits Until the day he dies (Chorus) Realms of knowledge Lost in a haze He no longer knows How a human behaves He clutches his trophy Long lost its gleam He's long forgotten What it even means Prophet of hate Prophet of lies This is the end See how time flies (Chorus) Realms of knowledge Lost in a haze He no longer knows How a human behaves He clutches his trophy Long lost its gleam He's long forgotten What it even means They say he once was like us Is this what our future holds?
4.
Suicide In all but name (Walk to the gallows) Purposely I seek out pain (Disaster to follow) Remind myself there's no choice Scream above the deafening voice That urges me to walk away Morality The load I bear (Resolve is unbroken) Suffering The gift I share (Fateful words spoken) Disharmony looms on the horizon I know the end, but still I press on There just isn't any other way (Chorus) Every fibre, every cell Screams in protest I carry on, at full pelt Imminent wreck I know that I head for certain doom But I'm duty-bound to open the wound I bring forth the plague Guilt Sitting in my psyche (Beyond redemption) The will To do what's right (Mislaid intentions) You have borne the brunt of the blow But with me, the seeds of guilt sown The roots, tangle in my brain Frozen With legs of stone (Body unwilling) Honour Tells me to go (Cause needs fulfilling) Instinct begs to cut me loose Duty drags me by the noose I leap headfirst into the blaze (Chorus) No Don't make me go Can't you see that I know The disaster that awaits (Chorus)
5.
Sin A step beyond redemption's line I am forever lost Live To once more see a new sunrise But at a fatal cost Trade The fabric of my soul away Just to survive Stain The blood upon these hands remains A part of me dies With my very own eyes This face I don't recognise Upon reflection I no longer see my own The reward for bringing peace Is remorse with no glory Left with this burden To shoulder all alone Shedding My morals into the abyss Like discarded skin Falling Betrayal's vacuum pulls me in I begin to sink Actions That were justified now degrade Within trauma's lens Crushing Beneath the consequential weight My psyche starts to bend To flee this world of monsters I stooped as low as they Practicing the actions I condemned Desperation the excuse To enter the same fate Damned myself to being One of them

about

Cult of Stasis is the second EP by Doomsday Sun; a five-track offering that tells the story of Dr. Jeremy Stantham, an innovative medical scientist. Despairing at his country being torn apart by civil war, Dr. Stantham invents the time capsule; a device that preserves him in a nostalgia-fueled stasis, but still has to deal with the consequences that a twenty-year slumber can result in…

Bearing influence from Lamb of God, Mastodon, Alice in Chains and more, Cult of Stasis is polished, unrelenting and the most accurate representation of Doomsday Sun to date.

Doomsday Sun would like to thank their friends, family and travelling
wasteland merchants for their continued love, support and timely supply of diesel, antibiotics and animal carcasses when supplies were running low. While we don’t know what Andy will do with that many weasels, we hope that the bag’s worth we traded over will bring him great joy in some way.
